I keep getting the message: "Warning! Data file does not contain an even number of 4 digit values." when I run Tape2Text and I know the data values in the dumped data file are OK. Why am I getting this message?
The Tape2Text software expects a [CR][LF] pair at the end of the raw data dump file and excludes them when calculating how many 4-digit data values were read. This test assures that there were no reader punch block or punch alignment problems when running the tape.
To solve this, just bring the captured data file into notepad or your favorite text editor, go to the end
of the file, hit the [ENTER] key and save the file.
After installing Tape2Text, I click the desktop shortcut to start it and dialog box appears asking what program to associate it with. Why?
This indicates that the Windows Scripting Host is not installed on your system. The initial version of Windows95 did not have the WSH installed. To correct this problem, upgrade your operating system to the OEM Service Release 2 of Windows95 or Windows98. Or download it from Microsoft.
